WORLD 19:13: 09 7, 2026

Fu Yahan, originally named Fu Xinyou, also known by her art name Zhiguizi. From the low point of business failure and crippling debt, she has grown into a devoted practitioner specializing in food education and dietary nourishment. Her life was completely transformed by a fateful encounter. For more than a decade, she has studied diligently under Mr. Liu Xuanyan, founder of Xuanyan Dao Culture and a popular science educator of traditional Chinese health preservation. She has dedicated herself to wellness through plant-based diets, befriending the land, and forged an extraordinary path of rebirth.

Rebirth from Desperation: Warmth in a Bowl of Plant-Based Food

Within a few years of marriage, Fu Yahan embarked on an entrepreneurial journey alongside her husband. Coming from an ordinary family and lacking experience, their venture was beset with hardships. Persistent losses left them barely able to afford basic daily needs, crushed under heavy debts. Immense stress ruined her health. Though only in her thirties, her body weakened as if she were elderly.

Sufferings came one after another. Her younger brother suffered from severe illness, and her mother-in-law relied on long-term medication. Fu Yahan herself was unwell but had no money for medical treatment. Eventually, her brother and mother-in-law passed away one after another, pushing her to the brink of mental collapse. Trapped in despair, she silently made a vow: she must rebuild herself, earn money to pay off her debts, and break free from this predicament.

It was her brother’s illness that led Fu Yahan to meet her mentor, Mr. Liu Xuanyan. When her family was hospitalized, a friend accompanied her for the visit. On that ordinary noon, the friend brought her, worn out in body and spirit, to the plant-based diet wellness space run by the mentor. The mentor had leased more than ten mu of farmland and grew organic vegetables by himself. His wellness space was simple, clean and filled with gentle warmth of daily life. Those simple yet vibrant plant-based meals let Fu Yahan truly realize for the first time that food is not merely to stave off hunger, but also a remedy to heal body and mind.

From then on, Fu Yahan often went there to learn about plant-based dietary wellness, and bought organic vegetables from her mentor’s farm. The mentor’s small shop happened to lie on her route to visit her mother. As they met frequently, she gradually entered this warm and pure bond, and began systematic study of the wisdom of plant-based nourishment.

A Mentor Like a Father: A Decade of Words and Deeds

The most precious quality of her mentor lies in his impartial heart. In his eyes, all beings are equal. Whether his disciples stand at the peak of life or sink into the valley, whatever their personalities or circumstances, he treats everyone equally and gently. Like an elder watching over his family, he stays quietly, embracing all flaws and frailties, patiently waiting for every lost soul to return and grow.

Over these long ten-plus years, Fu Yahan has stayed close to her mentor, learning earnestly and cultivating her inner self. The mentor keeps no secrets and imparts all his knowledge. He not only teaches his disciples principles of life and practical skills of plant-based nourishment to make a living, but also guides them to refine their temperament and cast off restlessness. He does not rely on harsh preaching; instead, he teaches through daily deeds and repeated heartfelt reminders. He gently corrects Fu Yahan’s shortcomings, untangles her inner knots, dissolves her obsessions, points out directions when she is lost, gives tender encouragement when she slackens, and lends strength when she feels fragile.

Nurtured, guided and embraced by her mentor, Fu Yahan walked completely out of the shadows of her past. Her once broken body and mind healed gradually. Her anxious, restless heart turned peaceful and calm; her distorted, obsessive mindset became open and clear. Her body, mood and spirit underwent a thorough transformation. She gradually learned to accept life, be kind to herself and move forward steadily, understanding kindness, perseverance, gratitude and responsibility.

The Trip to Yunnan: A Course That Illuminated Her Path

This year, Fu Yahan took part in the Traditional Chinese Health Preservation Training Camp in Yunnan. This study trip not only upgraded her professional skills, but also elevated her spiritual vision. At the camp, she gained an in-depth understanding of the core philosophy of Xuanyan Dao Culture: Culture builds the stage, economy puts on the show, and public welfare takes the lead. Culture serves as the root, economy as the practical tool, and public welfare as the soul. The three progress layer by layer and support one another, forming a complete, healthy ecosystem for the cause.

"Culture builds the stage" made her realize that fine traditional Chinese culture is the foundation for all undertakings. "Economy puts on the show" taught her that talking about culture while neglecting economy is like climbing a tree to catch fish. To practice food education and nourishment, one must aim high while keeping one’s feet firmly on the ground. "Public welfare takes the lead" touched the softest part of her heart. As stated in The I Ching: The earth’s power is receptivity; a noble man carries all things with profound virtue. How far one’s career can go ultimately depends on the depth of one’s virtue. Her mentor’s decade-long tolerance and protection stands as the most vivid example of public welfare leadership.

This Yunnan journey strengthened Fu Yahan’s resolve to follow her mentor, and gave her a clearer blueprint for her future work in food education and nourishment.

Food Education and Nourishment: Heritage from Farmland to Dining Table

Today, Fu Yahan works as a practitioner of food education and nourishment, as well as an inheritor of Xuanyan Dao Culture. Practicing food education is far more than a career; it is an original aspiration and a heritage. She knows well that having walked out of despair, she bears not only her own life, but also the responsibility to pass on this warmth.

In her daily practice, Fu Yahan’s greatest joy is growing vegetables. The image of her mentor tilling over ten mu of farmland by himself has long been engraved in her heart. Now she follows his example: turning soil, sowing seeds, watering and weeding. She tends every inch of land and every seedling as if they were her children. While farming, she also studied the research concepts of Academician Xu Hengyong from the Chinese Academy of Sciences on soil health. Academician Xu stresses that soil is the foundation of life, and organic matter is the soul of soil. Without healthy soil, there can be no healthy food, let alone healthy lives. Nurturing the land equals nurturing people. The abundance of organic matter in soil directly determines the nutrient density of food, and affects the physical and mental well-being of those who eat it. This deepened Fu Yahan’s understanding of why her mentor insists on farming personally, applying organic fertilizer and rejecting chemical pesticides. Every bend to pull weeds and every pile of compost returned to the field accumulates strength for the foundation of life.

For Fu Yahan, growing vegetables is also profound healing. When her hands are covered with earth and seeds break through the soil, past anxiety, pain and obsessions fade away with every stroke of the hoe. She hopes to put this organic, natural and simple philosophy of wellness into practice through every vegetable and meal, every plant and tree, sharing it with anyone willing to learn about food education. She wishes to use her professional knowledge of plant-based dietary nourishment to help more people worn out in body and spirit, just like her old self. With an equal, gentle and impartial heart, she hopes everyone who meets her can feel accepted and cared for.

Conclusion

More than a decade of earnest teaching, more than a decade of careful guardianship. This mentorship is deep, profound and nourishing silently, woven into every day of Fu Yahan’s life. For the rest of her life, she will stay reverent and grateful, closely following her mentor, staying true to her original aspiration, studying diligently, conducting herself honestly and growing wholeheartedly. She will live up to her mentor’s cultivation and this rare, great blessing in her life.
